The BIG SERVE Change the World
Looking for a volunteer opportunity for your family, scout group, or business? Consider The BIG SERVE Change the World! On May 6 and 7, join Community Christian Church, the Village, Plainfield United Methodist Church, Hope United Methodist Church, St. Mary Immaculate Parish, and other community organizations for The BIG SERVE Change the World, a weekend celebration of community service. You choose who and how to help. There are plenty of projects for people of all skill levels and ages, so your whole family can join in the fun! Senior TRIAD
The Senior TRIAD will meet on Monday, April 24, at American House Cedarlake for a freeprogram on Understanding Power of Attorney. The program begins at 10:30 a.m. For more information, click here.

Settlers' Park Events
Check out this summer's great lineup of movies and concerts online.The Village and Park District will be hosting movies on June 9 & 23 and July 7 & 21. Concerts will be held on June 15, July 13, and August 3. For times and selections, check the web calendar.We hope to see you in Settlers' Park this summer!

Parking Reminder
As a reminder,parking on Village streets is prohibited between 1:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. If you are having your driveway sealed or hosting guests, please call the non-emergency dispatch number at (815) 436-2341.

Battery Recycling
Did you know that you canrecycle batteries at the Village Hall? The following types of dry-cell batteries are accepted: Alkaline (AA, AAA, C, D, 9 volt, & lantern), Carbon Zinc, NiCD, NiMH, Silver Oxide, and Mercury batteries. This includes button cell batteries (hearing aids, watches, etc.) and rechargeable batteries. Lithium, lithium ion, lead acid, wet-cell, and leaking batteries are not accepted. Batteries can be dropped off atVillage Hall, Monday-Friday, between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.The ends of each battery must be taped to prevent short circuits and damage to terminals.
