HOSEBIB WINTERIZATION INSTRUCTIONS

It’s time to turn off the water to the outside hose bibs to prevent pipe breaks due to freezing water! It is each individual Unit Owner’s responsibility to ensure that this is completed.  CMC Maintenance will be inspecting all exterior hose bibs to ensure the water has been turned off.

IMPORTANT:  In the event that a pipe breaks and damage results from a leak, the Unit Owner will be responsible for costs involved with repairing the damage.  If you have any problems or questions, please contact the Management office at 703-212-8020, BEFORE November 13, 2009 to get more information.

INSTRUCTIONS:  To prevent pipe breaks, please follow the below simple steps to winterize both of your hose bibs (out front and in the garage):

1. Close valve inside.  Typically, the valve is located in the water heater closet.

2. Remove garden hose, if necessary.

3. Open hose bib-and leave it open.

4. Drain vacuum breaker.  Lift black plastic ring to the UP position.

5. Open bleed orifice (air valve) at the inside valve.

Board Member Responsibilities

The Board is ultimately responsible for the oversight of the community association ("the buck stops with the Board"). Although the Board may retain and delegate some of its duties to volunteers, contractors and professionals, the Board is still ultimately responsible for the duties it may have assigned to others.
