Neighborhood Watch Patrols

Whether or not you’ve noticed, for the past year some of your neighbors have been watching for you. Watching the neighborhood, that is, as part of The Pinecrest Neighborhood Watch Patrol program.
Each two-person team enjoys a leisurely walk around the community while keeping a watchful eye out for problems like unsightly graffiti, burnt-out streetlights, improperly parked vehicles, and other suspicious activity up to and including criminal acts. In inclement weather, they may patrol using a car.
If you are a regular walker -- with or without a dog -- or if you would like to be, you too can combine your walking routine with a useful community service. The only requirements are that you carry a cell phone and note pad with you, and that you have taken the Fairfax County Police Neighborhood Watch Training Program. Each two-person team has designated days, usually twice a month, and schedules its patrol at a time convenient to both members.
If you have already attended a Neighborhood Watch Training session provided by the police, please contact NW Patrol coordinators Janet Garber or Glen Ruh to be included in an updated Neighborhood Watch Patrol schedule. If you want to participate but haven't been trained, let us know and we'll make sure you are included in the next Neighborhood Watch training session.
The more active participants we have, the safer and more pleasant our Pinecrest community will be.

NOTE to Pinecrest Owners who purchased their homes prior to January 2005:
|
|
|
|
|
|
If you own your home jointly with your spouse or another person, and only one name is appearing on materials from CMC, including only one owner's name on this online account, please contact CMC to ask them to correct the ownership information. CMC will confirm ownership and update their company records. The previous management company's records only listed the name of one owner, which accounts for this problem. CMC assumed PCA management in January 2004 and since then all new owner information should have been accurately recorded. CMC Contact: Customer Services at (703) 631-7200, exts 254 or 270.

PinecrestPosts is here...
At last, The Pinecrest has a community listserve — an e-mail service that lets residents communicate with each other on topics of common interest. Lots of communities and affinity groups rely on them for important information, to exchange needs and wants, and just to enjoy over-the-back-fence news. To see what it’s all about, send an e-mail to:
PinecrestPosts-subscribe@yahoogroups.com
Add a note in the body of the message as to who you are and where in The Pinecrest you live, then hit send. The moderators will approve you and you’re on the way. Rest assured, you won't be overwhelmed with e-mails as there are four ways to participate -- individual emails, a daily digest, special notices only or web access only. It's your choice! Join and let's get started!

How It All Works
From
Association Government
Board Member Responsibilities
The Board is ultimately responsible for the oversight of the community association ("the buck stops with the Board").
Although the Board may retain and delegate some of its duties to volunteers, contractors and professionals, the Board
is still ultimately responsible for the duties it may have assigned to others.
