12/12/2011 City of Dallas Water Restrictions
The City of Dallas is restricting water usage once more. They are doing this in order to ensure that Dallas and surrounding areas have sufficient water to survive what portends to be an extended drought. The state is already looking at a $54B short term plan to provide water. If population growth continues at current rates, the 50 year water plan calls for at least a $90B expenditure (last year’s data, and costs continue to climb). In keeping with that concern, please do everything you can to conserve water. Below is the notification sent by the city regarding which days of the week odd and even numbered houses will be allowed to water. The watering restrictions NOW apply to hand watering, drip irrigation, and soaker hoses as well. This is a further step to conserve.

Thanks for helping with this effort.

Residents and businesses with addresses ending in an even number may water only on Sundays and Thursdays. Addresses ending in an odd number may water only on Saturdays and Wednesdays. The restrictions apply to automatic sprinklers, hose end sprinklers, drip irrigation, soaker hoses and hand watering. Watering is prohibited between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. on allowed watering days.

Volunteers in Patrol (VIP)
Help keep our neighborhood safe...contact Cookie Peadon if you want volunteer to patrol.  The training is approximately 5 hours. The more people we have who complete training, the less stress on volunteers. So, if you can spare a little time, let us team you up with a partner (or go with your spouse, etc.). We have magnetic signs for the cars, to identify you as VIPs and we will soon have flashing lights so all your neighbors (and any potential thieves) will really be able to see you. The forms are attached.

Board Member Responsibilities

The Board is ultimately responsible for the oversight of the community association ("the buck stops with the Board"). Although the Board may retain and delegate some of its duties to volunteers, contractors and professionals, the Board is still ultimately responsible for the duties it may have assigned to others.
