A Winter Tip from Morris Property Management:
As you already know, the temperature has dropped dramatically. Last year on January 16th the temperature dropped similar to this and we received several water damage emergency calls. They varied from commercial sprinklers to residential plumbing freezing and bursting. Remember to leave your water dripping and to leave the cabinet doors to sinks open especially ones on an exterior wall. Outdoor faucets can cause interior damage. Frozen pipes usually don’t leak until they start to thaw. If you turn on the faucet and nothing comes out, it’s already frozen! Don’t wait on it to thaw and the water damage to begin. Call the plumber immediately. And be absolutely sure your vacant properties are properly winterized. Send someone to check on vacant properties during and after subfreezing weather. The biggest damages we come across are on the vacant properties.

How It All Works
From
Association Government
Board Member Responsibilities
The Board is ultimately responsible for the oversight of the community association ("the buck stops with the Board").
Although the Board may retain and delegate some of its duties to volunteers, contractors and professionals, the Board
is still ultimately responsible for the duties it may have assigned to others.
